Mature student applicants

A person whose previous school performance and/or recent work record suggests a strong possibility of academic success may be considered for admission to Laurentian as a mature student.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 21 years old (by December 31 of the year of admission) and not be enrolled in a formal education program for at least one year prior to the beginning of the university studies.

A person applying to full-time studies must provide letters of reference and transcripts of marks for all previous studies, including secondary school.

Mature students are admitted on an individual basis. Depending on the program, the Office of Admissions may require that specific courses be included in the first year of study.

Enrolment:  Only a limited number of students are admitted to first-year. Applicants who meet the minimum entrance requirements are not guaranteed admission.

Application procedure (full-time studies)
All candidates who wish to study in a full-time degree program must complete the OUAC 105 form, which is available online at www.ouac.on.ca

Application procedure (part-time studies)
Candidates who wish to study on a part-time basis must apply for admission directly to Laurentian University. You must fill out and send the Admission Form as well as the Fees Invoice form, along with the appropriate admission fee.  Both forms are located on our Admission Forms page.
