DEPARTMENT D'ÉTUDES FRANÇAISES Welcome!
Links

The Department d'études françaises offers courses designed to meet the specific needs of two linguistic groups, with different programs for French-speaking (Études françaises and Orthophonie) and English-speaking (French) students. Mindful of its unique and central role within Laurentian University and the French-speaking community of Sudbury, the Department supports and promotes services and activities to improve the linguistic and cultural life of Francophones. The Department's programs also encourage staff and students to become involved in theatre, poetry and various festivals.

French, Langue et civilisation françaises

  • The courses cover French literature, language, linguistics and culture.
  • The 3 and 4-year (Honours) programs lead to a Bachelor of Arts in French Language (offered to Anglophone students).
  • Students must write a placement test.
